St. George

Last week we all went to the police station for a tour.  This was a fun activity for People First.  I learned about crimes, and money safety, and when to call 9-1-1.  They said to only call if it’s and emergency.  We met a lot of police men.  They showed us all over the building.  We saw the dispatch room, there were 3 people working.  They catch the bad people.

Today is our Pizza Party at TURN Community Services   We are celebrating 6 birthdays.  It is fun to get together for pizza every month.  We are gonna have a good time, it is fun to hang out with people.  My favorite pizza is vegetarian and plain cheese with a Diet Coke.

This month we went to the People First group, about 40 of us, to the Wildlife Museum.  We looked at different animals, zebras, lions, bears, turtles, lizards, tigers, and monkeys.  They gave us a box so we could listen and learn about the animals.  It cost us $4.00 each to get in.  It was worth it.  We were there for about an hour, we had a tour.  It is a the Dixie Convention Center.

The bears were my favorite because they looked nice.  We had apples and water as a treat afterwards.  We ate them on the grass outside.  The weather was nice.  When we were done eating, I went to work and everyone else went home.

Today I hanged out with TURN for our 40^th anniversary party.  We played games, ate lunch, and had cake, and set and visited with our friends.  We won prizes for playing games. I won 2 necklaces and helped out.   We had a lot of people here.  It is always fun hanging out with all my friends.

Yesterday we went to the park with all my friends that I work with.  We go out to eat twice a month with all our working friends.  It was fun eating at the park.  We had a good time, only it was getting windy.  After lunch some of us went to exercise at the gym.  I walked around the track 3 times.  That is what I usually do.  I jump rope too.

I had a good time hanging out with friends and helping out.

Today I went to lunch at Del Taco for my friends early birthday lunch. We go to lunch twice a month for someones birthday, last month was mine. It’s fun being able to visit with my friends. It is a good time.

Last week for People First we went to Canyon Media, one of the radio stations here in town. We got to take turns talking on the microphone. I did not have anything to say, so I didn’t say anything. I thought it was really neat. We even got a tour of the station.

This week we went to the local Library for a tour.  It was a lot of fun.  We meet the first Tuesday of every month at 4:30.

Hi this is Debbie I am part of People First in St. George.  This month we went to Kolob Care Center to sing Christmas songs and give out fruit and cards to people staying there.  We also went to Elks Lodge for dinner and sang songs, ate dinner, and saw Santa.  The best part was seeing Santa and being with friends.  Santa gave everyone gifts.  I got perfume, and a stuffed animal.  My husband got a stuffed, black puppy dog.  Everyone had a good time.

People First is a lot of fun and I get to know people.  And we get along with people.
