For People First this month we went to Children’s Museum. We wlaked around to see differnt activities for kids to play with. They had a little store for kids to practice and play shop, a toy kitchen for kids to play in. It was fun.
I also did a lot of fun things with TURN Community Services. We went to Thriller at Tuachan, a Halloween party, and our Prom Banquet party. Lots of fun stuff going on.

PEOPLE FIRST OF PARK CITY
I live across the street from the finish line for the St. George Marathon. Every year my husband and I like to go over and say hi to the athletes. We always ask if we can help and they let us help hand out water to the athletes when they come in. I saw my nephew come in, it looked like he was going to faint and pass out, but he did good.
This year was the first year for special needs to compete “I’m Able”. Maybe I will do it next year, they all got nice awards.
The weather was really nice. Not hot or too cold.
For Peoples First we went to Stahlei’s Farm and walked around, saw different animals like, horses, bunnies, hens, chickens, lamas, and turkeys. We went on rides around the farm, and ate snacks. It was good fun.
My husband and I are members of the Lions Club here in St. George. Part of being a member is we get to help with Dixie Roundup, our local rodeo. The rodeo goes for 3 nights, and I got to help work the concession stand. I served people their drinks, food, and candy. It was good, a lot of people. It rained on us both nights, it was fun.
The Lions Club also served all of the volunteers dinner the night before the rodeo. We had subway sandwiches and 4 different salads to choose from. I had ham and cheese, it was good. My husband and I ate and then danced until midnight.
Our Special Olympics Bocce tournament was before the rodeo, and my husband and I won! We get to go to state in October to compete again. We won the first place medal, it’s gold. I hung it up on the wall by all our other medals. We had a good time.
We went to Metcalf Mortuary and they gave us a tour. They showed us some caskets, they were new and really pretty. They also showed us where they drained the blood out of the body after people die. They have a table they lie the body on, and showed us the fridge they put the body in. We got to see where they drain the bodies of blood. Then they put stuff in the body to make it hard, and then they do make up on them. They did not show us any dead bodies though.
They showed us where they do the funerals, and where the family sets. They even showed us where they cremate bodies when people don’t want to be buried. I did not want to go into the room, it was too crowded.
My favorite part was seeing the caskets. They had red, gold, pink, and black. They showed us the cute baby caskets too. It made me sad to look at them.
Next month we get to go to Arizona to see Little Black Mountain Rock Art Site. I don’t even know what this is, but I will find out and let you know.
We went on a tour of the fire station and they talked to us about safety, and then went on a tour. They said to call 911 if you need it.
We got to see their fire trucks and the equipment. My favorite was the trucks and how to get in. They use a ladder to get in. I thought that was interesting. The truck is really big.
We get to go to Metcalf Mortuary next month. That will be interesting, we might tour the cemetery or see dead people. We will get to learn about when we die and what they do with our clothes and hair.
This month our People First activity was at the park. It was a Pot Luck. I brought chips to share. We had pop, water, and different foods. Someone made chicken for everyone, it was good. Everyone had a good time. It was really hot, but fun. We had games to play, and then we went home after that.
