Who We Are
People First of Utah is part of the self-advocacy movement, an international civil rights movement for people with disabilities. People First of Utah is a self advocacy organization that assists people with developmental disabilities learn how to advocate for themselves, increase their independence and become apart of their community.
People First of Utah members believe that
WE ARE PEOPLE FIRST AND WE CAN SPEAK FOR OURSELVES!
Our members meet in local groups around the state to learn self-advocacy skills and have fun at the same time.
Here is a picture of the tree we decorated and set up in the Egyptian Theater for the Christmas Tree Jubilee. The tree raised about $500 for a local educational charity called The Weber School Foundation. Their motto is “We Believe in Helping Weber County Children”. Many of the people helped by the foundation received things that helped them with a disability. Weber and Davis county People First groups made the decorations and decorated the tree and set it up for the auction. Thank you to the generous bidder who purchased our tree. May you have a very Merry Christmas and many more after.
