The Kalemia Foundation

The Kalemia Foundation was started by the family of two children affected by Lebers Congenital Amaurosis, a disease that causes blindness from birth. We want to make a difference by supporting people who make a difference for Blind kids in Utah.
Our Mission

We are dedicated to Braille Literacy and Cane use to promote independence in blind individuals. We are associated with THE FOUNDATION FOR RETINAL RESEARCH. They are doing a fantastic work to unite families affected by LCA and to find a cure for Retinal Blindness. They also have a child with LCA. We are committed to helping those who have been the most beneficial in helping our children in real and useful ways. We are also dedicated to getting more professionals into the Special Education field, trained in the areas of Visual Impairment.
