In just two weeks, the Utah Independent Living Center is having our 22nd Annual 5K Run and Roll on September 15th, 2012, at the West Jordan Veterans Memorial Park. Race categories are Runner, Walker, Wheelchair (manual, unassisted), Wheelchair (motorized or assisted), and Handcycle. The Runner and Walker categories will have divisions for the top three men and top three women but the men and women are combined in the other categories.

Because of a generous donor this year, we have a GRAND PRIZE DRAWING of an iPad3 (64 GB Wi-Fi) for paid race participants who are present during the drawing and also gift certificates for first place finishers. Medals will also be awarded to the top three in each category. As we have done in the past, everyone present at the end of the race, whether they competed or cheered the racers on, will be eligible to participate in our usual prize drawing.

Registration begins at 8:30 am and the race begins at 9:30 am. Pre-registration is $15 or $20 at the race. You may register and pay online at www.uilc.org or print the registration and mail it in with a check payable to Utah Independent Living Center. Further information is on the registration form or call Debbie or Kim at 801-466-5565

There is need for someone to organize and chair the Family to Family meetings at South Valley School.

There is need for someone to organize and chair the Family to Family meetings at South Valley School.

Also, a co-leader to handle communications like emails.

To be a leader, you do need to have a family member receiving funding through DSPD or someone on the DSPD waitlist.

You do not need to meet this requirement to be a co-leader or other network officer.

It requires only a few hours a month and most of that can be done from home. The benefits far outweigh the sacrifices.

You will work with experienced leaders already in Family to Family.
It is an opportunity to meet other families and help them access services.
